Marketing and Communications Manager at Prison Fellowship, Lansdowne, VA

Prison Fellowship is a nationwide, non-denominational Christian ministry founded by Chuck Colson in 1976. Our mission is to seek the transformation of prisoners and their reconciliation to God, family, and community through the power and truth of Jesus Christ.

Prison Fellowship (PF) is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager to develop and implement marketing strategies and tactics to support the ministry’s objectives and programmatic goals.  Coordinate production of communications materials (print, video, web elements, events, etc.) to meet goals within budget.  Utilize creative staff and vendors to produce marketing-driven, consistent messaging and visuals.  Responsible for development and production of recurring publications (Inside Journal, PF’s annual report).  Maintain network for “transformed lives" story leads with prison ministry field and their contacts.  Supervise assigned staff as well as volunteers, as needed.  Ensure theology, tone, and vision alignment of products.  Oversee accessibility of ministry’s visual media elements.

  • BA in Marketing, Journalism, PR or other related degree
  • 5-7 years marketing and communications (Corporate communications or Journalism experience)
  • 3+ years experience selecting, negotiating, and monitoring print vendors
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience developing and operating within project budgets. Strong editing and writing skills
  • Knowledge of AP Style
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Knowledge of issues relevant to ministry to prisoners
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of print process from planning to delivery
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Photoshop
  • 10% travel required – satisfactory driving record and valid driver’s license
  • Proven and verifiable financial management skills
  • Satisfactory background check required – Prison Fellowship does not discriminate against ex-offenders
